I don't think visuals ever upgrade their mods like that, naturally there's no need to, since they are not intended for online use. You might be able to play online with a texture or shader mod and not get banned but it's defo a risk. Managed to get shaders working online. 100x better. If i do get banned, so be it.

To go one step further than the guy above. A normal game pass won’t grant you access to Xbox live anyway. You would need to get an “Ultimate Game Pass” for it to give you access to games and Xbox live. But specifically for GTA online, Xbox Live on its own would suffice.
The short answer is no. GTA 5 Online doesn’t have crossplay compatibility. If your friends are playing on a different system, you won’t be able to play together. However, you can play together if they have a previous gen system than you or vice versa.
