Most hero points can be obtained without additional requirements, but several are locked behind specific masteries, which you can't get without completing the first story mission of the corresponding expansion. That said, you should easily be able to accrue enough points to unlock one or even two elite specs. Metallis.
Guild Wars 2 is all about building your character, unlocking the abilities you want, and creating the character you want to play as. To level your character up, you will have to use Hero Points
In this step by step beginners guide we learn how to How to Get Hero Points After 80 by doing all Guild Wars 2 Hero Points Heart of Thorns Verdant Brink one by one, and unlock all the
In old GW2, you can progress/advance your character without having fine motor skills. In HoT, you can not level/advance your character just by playing the normal content. You have to acquire mastery and hero points. Most of those mastery/hero points are behind some kind of jumping puzzle. This is painful for me.

Just started playing and really enjoying the game , quickly hit 80 , now trying to figure out quickest way to get hero points to go from engineer to machinist ? I bought the expansion packs so have all of them.
All hero challenges in HoT and PoF maps give 10 Hero Points. Both HoT and PoF have more than 25 Hero Challenges each, meaning that if you do all of them you will end up with excess hero points, on top of the 200 excess hero points from Core Tyria as the level-up rewards alone give you enough to max your core skills and traits.
As for raids, you'll want to join a guild or find a discord group that does training runs for newbies, once you think you're up to the challenge. They'll accommodate you if you feel anxious and you need not worry as they'll teach you the ins and outs. A side note: GW2 really wasn't balanced for PvP.
There are no level rewards after reaching level 80. XP earned by max level characters will go towards filling your current region's selected Mastery line, or into a pool which rewards you with 1 Spirit Shard every 254,000 XP earned.
It is before level 80(More specifically before level 45) is when choosing which utility skills and traits becomes important. Also, anyone who's worrying about min-maxing on their first character at level 11, is playing the wrong game. At level 1-45 is the best time to min-max. After that, OP can choose liberally on how he spend his hero points.
First time posting in the subreddit. Just started a couple of weeks ago loving the game!, and approaching 80 (73 Elementalist at the moment). But i'm playing on a free account. Just want to ask, what do I do with all my spare hero points? I have around 150 spare after doing all the traits for my job. Thanks!
If you boost to 80, grab your espec, and proceed to do all the 1-80 story you’ll have plenty of time fighting easy enemies to learn what your skills do. If you also map complete (all hearts/poi/hero challenges/waypoints) core you’ll have way more than enough time. That’s a pretty big task.
Yeah, it's a little much. Perhaps they'll introduce some other ways to gain hero points (via LS3, open world, something) - it's a little out of character to have to do ~80% (per u/tertle's math) of the skill challenges of the current open world simply to gain access to a trait line.
By getting to level 80 you get enough hero points to unlock all the core ranger skills and traits, so to get druid you then need to do hero challenges, you get 1 per
p2w means paying for skip content, pay > skip to lvl 80, pay> skip gearing, pay> skip hero point chase, pay> skip grind, if thats not p2w then I must say that black desert isn't pay to win Pay-to-win actually means paying for a power advantage that cannot be obtained without paying for said power advantage.

You only need 60 hero points to begin using your elite spec, the points you spend after that continue to unlock more skills, traits, skins, etc. Again, hero challenges are worth 10 points each in the jungle. So no you don’t need to go do 200-400 jungle challenges.

not at the moment, hero points will be used in elite specializations as well. They are a hard capped resource, so any use for them would need to be pretty good. you have to let them sit. they are a non-renewable resource in the game and will only be used for unlocking skills and traits of core and elite specs.
